Mrs. Kathleen Weidman is the resource teacher at Immaculate Conception. She attended the University of Central Arkansas where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Special Education. She later earned a certificate for Special Education administration. Kathleen served 13 years as a resource teacher for the Fort Smith Public School District, mainly at Euper Lane Elementary. After God (& Mrs. B.) called her to I.C., she taught second grade for 16 years. She is currently serving her second year as the special education (resource) teacher at I.C. She has recently been trained in the IMSE (Institute of Multisensory Education) Orton-Gillingham approach that was originally designed for students with dyslexia. Currently, she is receiving instruction in the Connect to Comprehension method that is designed for struggling readers to access age appropriate stories and books.
