IC Summer Child Care Program

The purpose of I.C. School's Summer Program is to provide a quality childcare program for children ages 5-12 through the summer months. The program is licensed by the Department of Human Services.

There is a $50.00 registration fee. Activity fees are calculated according to cost each spring. Weekly fee is $75.00 per week for full-time attendance and $18.oo per day for 1-3 days per week.

Operation

The program operates from 7:30 am - 5:30 pm Monday through Friday. The fun begins the end of May and ends the beginning of August. The program will be closed on July 4.

Possible Daily Schedule

7:30              Arrival
7:30- 8:30      Free Play
8:30- 9:30       Inside Activity
9:30               Snack
9:30- 10:00     Outside Play
10:00- 12:00   Off Campus Activity
12:00- 1:00     Lunch/outside play
1:00- 3:30       Off campus activity
3:30               Snack/Free Play
5:30                Day ends

Staff

The summer program is under the direction of Sharon Blentlinger, principal. All staff members have previously worked in the I.C. Summer Program.

Staff/Child Ratio

1 worker per 20 children
1 worker per 8 children for swimming and other water activities

 

 
 

Admissions

I.C. Summer Program will prioritize admissions as follows:
1. I.C. School students registered as full-time in April.
2. I.C. School children registered as part-time in April.
3. All others will be accepted on a first come basis.

Drop Ins

Drop ins are allowed only in the event that the adult to child ratio permits. Parents must first contact the director of the program to find out if there is space for an additional child to the days program.

Weekly activities are planned as follows. Please check with the school office for the fees associated with these activities.

First Tee - golf instruction
First Serve - tennis instruction
Skating at Crystal Palace
Bowling at Midland Bowl
Swimming at Creekmore Park
Vacation Bible School (one week only)
Gymnastics at Flame
Miniature Golf

Wonderful Wednesdays at the Fort Smith Public Library and other field trips.

Children will also enjoy many fun activities on the school grounds.

A weekly schedule will be provided to parents.

 

 
 

Lunch and Snacks

Students will need a lunch and drink each day. A snack will be provided each morning and afternoon. Occasionally, a special lunch will be arranged and parents will be informed in advance.
