Do your students were uniforms? Yes, students wear uniforms that are ordered at the school. There are used uniform sales held at the school several times a year. All guide lines for uniforms are in the I.C. Policy Manual. |
| May I visit your school? Yes, the public is always welcome at our school. Ring the doorbell, tell us who you are and you will be allowed to enter the school. Visitors are to stop at the office to sign in and out on the visitor register and to wear a visitor badge during their stay. Interviews and tours of the school may be scheduled with the principal. |

What kind of security do you have at your school? All doors are kept locked at all times, the play areas are fenced on all sides and children are never outside without adult supervision. |
| How many students are in a classroom? Up to 28 children may be in a classroom. Kindergarten is divided into 2 or 3 groups which rotate between three teachers. First through fourth grade are in self contained classrooms. Fifth and sixth grades change classes for their four core subjects. Details may be found on the curriculum page in this web site. |

Are you accredited? Yes, the Arkansas Nonpublic School Accrediting Association (ANSAA) accredits Immaculate Conception School. By meeting the standards of this association, Immaculate Conception School pledges itself to provide its students with the best possible learning environment. Immaculate Conception School's accreditation is valid from August, 1999 through July, 2006. |
| What is your grade scale and
when are grades given? Report cards are
distributed at the end of each nine-week period. Progress reports will
be sent home each four and one-half weeks to the parents of students whose
work is unsatisfactory or whose conduct is unacceptable. Kindergarten students receive report cards using this evaluation: + Positive Progress, NG Needs Guidance, - Not Introduced In grades 1-6 the following interpretations shall be maintained: A 95-100 A- 93-94 Superior Achievement B+ 91-92 B 87-90 B- 85-86 Above Average C+ 83-84 C 79-82 C- 77-78 Average D+ 75-76 D 72-74 D- 70-71 Passing F Anything Below 70% Failure In selected subjects, the following grades will be used: O-Outstanding S-Satisfactory N-Needs Improvement Students with special learning difficulties will be graded on an adjusted scale. |

What are your school hours? The official school day begins at 8:00 a.m. and continues through 3:15 p.m. |
| What must I do to have my child enrolled? This information can be found on the admissions page in this web site. We do not have a waiting list. Your child will not be tested prior to acceptance. |

Does your school have sports teams? We have school sponsored basketball teams for girl and boys in fifth and sixth grades. Sixth graders also participate in an area wide track meet in the spring. The church sponsors T-ball, pitching machine, softball, and baseball during the summer. |

Do you have other extra-curricular activities? Sacramental preparation, altar servers, safety patrol, school choir (4-6), and Scouts. We have a "Pal" program, where 6th grade students help kindergarten students feel welcome and comfortable in our school. We have a "Outdoor Habitat" that all children are involved in, details may be seen on the Habitat Info page in this web site. Immaculate Conception Church also sponsors a youth group for fifth and sixth grade children (everyone is invited to attend) that meets once a month. |

What kind of parent
involvement is available/expected? You are
expected to volunteer to be considered an active
family. If you don't fill an easy to attain minimum, your tuition
will be charged at a Non-active rate. All families are required to work one shift for each child at the Immaculate Conception Spring Festival, held the first weekend in May each year. This is our major fund raiser and requires everyone's involvement. The volunteer program is under the direction of the PTO (see PTO News page for latest information) and the principal. Volunteers are involved in activities such as helping the teacher with projects, working with individual students in need of special help in particular subjects, supervising recess, clerical work, driving for field trips, fund raising, etc. |
